The Clayton Appalachia Home Building Facility has successfully completed ISO 14001 Certification. The facility received a special designation as Best in Class, having ZERO major and minor findings and 12 noted proficiencies.

Auditor Joe Birchfield stated, “I work with a lot of different industries (NASA, DOE, auto manufacturers, etc) but this week has been the best I have ever seen in the waste source segregation. I believe this team, with the great start they have had, can definitely get to running a zero-landfill business.”

The facility’s EHS Manager, Lee Anderson, praised the teams ahead of Appalachia for paving the way for success.

“Hats off to Bruce Morey and the Rutledge Team for breaking the ice on mapping this journey for Clayton Homes. Bill Breiding, Norris EHS Manager and Jody Kirkman, Rockwell EHS Manager need to be recognized for providing their feedback and expertise on their Home Building Facilities ISO Certifications. Lastly, we recognize the Appalachia Team for their time and energy and what it means to them and to all of our neighbors in Andersonville, TN. We are proud to announce that we will be the 4th Home Builder in the U.S. to be ISO 14001 Certified. Our forward thinking and continuous improvement is the right thing to do.”

Another milestone in our journey to be WORLD CLASS! Congratulations to the entire Clayton Appalachia Team on this monumental achievement!
